Freemasonry or Masons are a very Masonic organisation. They love the number 33.

If you have the letters a to z, then you have 1 to 26. But if you take the UPPERCASE letters A to Z, then you have 26 to 52.

The letter G that you see in the image above is an UPPERCASE. So G must be the seventh letter. UPPERCASE letters started with 26, so if we add 7 + 26 we get 33.

And that's why they picked G. They didn't picked it because it looked nice, no! They picked it because it fit's the number 33. A Masonic number.
